The aim of the lesson: To show the importance of the resurrection and the wonder of fellowship with a risen Saviour.

  • What your students should know: Jesus Christ died and rose again so all who believe in Him can be saved.
  • What your students should feel: A desire to be saved.
  • What your students should do: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and receive Him as Saviour.

Lesson outline (for the teacher’s and students’ notebooks):

1. Jesus’ friends bury His body (Matthew 27:57-61; Luke 23:50-56).

2. Jesus’ enemies demand that His tomb be guarded (Matthew 27:62-66).

3. Jesus’ followers find an empty tomb (Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-10).

4. Jesus reveals Himself to Mary (Mark 16:9-11; John 20:11-18).
