The aim of the lesson: To show that though Christians may determine to do right, sometimes they fail.

  • What your students should know: Jesus loves them even if they do wrong. He is willing to forgive them if they confess their sin.
  • What your students should feel: The need of forgiveness when they sin.
  • What your students should do: Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive their sin. Tell Him they love Him.

Lesson outline (for the teacher’s and students’ notebooks):

1. The disciples forsake Jesus (John 18:12-24).

2. Jesus is taken to the rulers and falsely accused (Matthew 26:57-68; Mark 14:53-65).

3. Peter denies Christ three times (Matthew 26:69-74; Mark 14:66-72; Luke 22:54-60; John 18:25-27).

4. The Lord Jesus continues to love Peter (Matthew 26:75; Mark 14:72; Luke 22:61-62).
